August saw over 350 members of the archviz community from across the globe join the D2 Conference 2022. The two-day event hosted in Vienna is one of the largest gatherings of architectural visualisation artists in the world and entailed a line up of insightful workshops and talks provided by leaders in the industry on topics around innovation in visualisation technologies and learning.
The event kicked off with a presentation on inspiration in the creative industries, followed by a range of other talks and workshops from the likes of SHoP Architects and Pete Stultz, who discussed the understanding of colour and space and embracing new ways of conveying detail. Day two was equally compelling, commencing with a presentation on the effectiveness of storytelling through animations. Next up was an exploration of personal growth and self improvement in relation to professional or commercial work.
Many of the event’s speakers similarly emphasised the importance of exploring innovative techniques and ideas through personal projects, which can help artists in various ways, such as recharging creativity and even attracting new clients. The conference then finished with a workshop on the Pulze tool, then wound up with some well deserved drinks in the sun!
D2 highlighted just how valuable it is to build links and maintain connections across the archviz community and we were grateful to meet friends, old and new from the industry. It was really exciting to see the event buzzing and it certainly made us proud to be part of the visualisation community. This was no doubt an invaluable experience from both a connectivity and educational perspective – it provided a much needed opportunity to finally come together with other artists, learn from one another and share experiences with our industry peers.
We absolutely loved taking part and representing the studio overseas to meet like minded people and share our knowledge. We shall be sure to join again next year!
